Present Danger by Elizabeth Goddard (Rocky Mountain Courage Series)

About the Book:

Former FBI Special Agent Jack Tanner is working as a detective in Montana when he comes across a body in the national forest during a search and rescue mission. He's committed to finding the killer, even if it means working alongside his old flame, US Forest Service Special Agent Terra Connors.

When Terra discovers that the murder victim had ties to a powerful and dangerous trafficker of archaeological artifacts, the investigation takes a deadly turn--one that hits too close to home. As Terra fears she lacks the courage to face what comes next, Jack is more determined than ever to protect her. But he's failed her before. And if he fails this time, it will cost them far more than just their hearts.

My Review:
Stunning suspense, perfect romance, this book is 5 stars all the way! Terra and Jack are simply a super couple. I liked them, and I was totally sucked into this story. You can lose track of time, or forget to eat. I loved the twists and the journey to see if I had guessed the who did it, or not. It reminded me of some major motion pictures, and could be one of them itself. I adored the archeology aspects. So good!

It's a bit lighter on faith, but at the same time, that is kind of an undercurrent because you could not survive all this without God's help. Even with the few things that are a bit more, shall I say typical of this type of story, I still really loved it. I didn't want to put it down, and mine also has a notebook with it, and a pen. That's enough to make me want to jump into preorders because it's so super cool!

5 Stars

From The Author:

Present Danger is the first book in the Rocky Mountain Courage series?

With the breathtaking Montana landscape as a backdrop, a former FBI special agent turned county detective joins with a USFS special agent to investigate a murder involving an archaeological crime. The investigation leads them into dangerous shadows of the past and secrets better left buried.

What do my characters in each book have in common? What ties them together in the series?

In each story in the series, characters face challenges of the heart, mind and body to ultimately prove they have rocky mountain courage.

They shared tragedy during their teen years—loved-ones were killed by an avalanche while on a SAR mission. This team of searchers gave the ultimate sacrifice to help others. A memorial was established commending their “rocky mountain courage” and remains near the base of the mountain on which they died, hence the title of the series Rocky Mountain Courage.
