I had to jump at the chance to read this book. Ivy doesn't have wings. It's all she's wanted since she was born without them. There's nothing simple about this book. It's YA up to no age limit with the complexity of this story. It has gardens, and a "tales of old", myths and folklore all pulled into the story. It's very fast-paced. I loved watching Ivy overcome, and that the author didn't hold back on many challenges, on many levels. The dynamics of good vs. evil, even when it's subtle sometimes.
