Running Steel by Stuart Field (John Steel book #6)

An Overview Media Review

In the sixth book in Stuart Field's thriller series, John Steel is drawn into a deadly game of cat and mouse as he hunts for a methodical killer known as The Sentinel.

Helping an old friend in the CIA to hunt down the serial killer, Steel soon realizes that the culprit is sending them postcards with clues to his next victim. Digging deeper into the lives of the previous victims, it seems that the only thing that is constant is that all cards are addressed to him, Detective John Steel.

Racing against time, can he stop the elusive killer on his tracks, or will he end up as the last name on The Sentinel's list?

My Review:

This book starts with quite an event and the action keeps coming. It's indeed, running! Tracking this killer is not easy, and now it seems the only link to the identity of this evil person is... himself? What! Some kind of messed up game that means he's connected to the vicitms, even if only by the postcards that are being sent. But that would mean this person knows him, right? It's a race against time that will test endurance, wits, and require Steele to use everything he can to his advantage if he is going to get this person. Lives on are the line and that includes his. This book can make you hold your breath, and it can make you loose sleep as you want to find out what is happening next! While it's the sixth book in the series, it can stand alone if it must. I hope this isn't the end of this series.
