My Review:
I had to jump at the chance to read this book. Ivy doesn't have wings. It's all she's wanted since she was born without them. There's nothing simple about this book. It's YA up to no age limit with the complexity of this story. It has gardens, and a "tales of old", myths and folklore all pulled into the story. It's very fast-paced. A low-level faith theme is included, but it's not so deep as to drive off cross over readers who could find a whole new type of book to read. These
I loved watching Ivy overcome, and that the author didn't hold back on many challenges, on many levels. The dynamics of good vs. evil, even when it's subtle sometimes. The magic involved didn't bother me at all or cause me to think this book should be avoided by younger readers. Quite the opposite, it's a fantastic chance to share.
I would say 4.5 but because this is book one and I can get more of this series: 5 Stars
