For Pete's Sake by Linda Windsor

Hello All!

Again I am shocked by such a great book! LOL! I guess I could come to expect it, but we will see! ;) I loved this book! My husband and I are members of Christian Motorcycle Club, the Warriors For Christ MC. That made Ellen on her Harley just close to my heart. I don't ride my own bike yet, but I hope to have a Trike one of these days! I loved Ellen's personality. I felt close to Adrian because of my own computer background. I live around red hats, and some minor white hats. I did see one major chunk of plot coming in the book, but it was still so well written that I loved reading it anyway. I don't want this to sound wrong, but as far as plot doing what I though it would, it did...like if I had written it that is the way I would have wanted it to go. I really liked that great deal.

Then we come to the really *good* part. Pete's issue with Asperger's. I have a friend with a son who has Autism. I have been around other Autistic children. However, of late, someone very close to me seems to have a mild version of Asperger's. My friend who's son is Autistic told this person that they sounded like they had quite a few Asperger's symptoms.

As I was reading I was grateful, and wowed at reading about a child who's actions are so very close to those of this person who is so dear to me. The anger, enormous and boiling....just had him labeled as hot tempered red headed child. The not reading body language has driven many people nutty at times, and caused him to be more misunderstood. He did learn how to read body language, but it doesn't always work. Being in their own world at times, enormous intelligence, but serious lack of ability to deal with others struck home to the core of my being! I hadn't heard of Asperger's but once prior to my friend telling this person that they needed to research it. This person was born 3 months premature, and the doctors told the mother to expect problems, including emotional issues. So growing up anger, lack of social skills, you name it, it was just assigned to that. I wasn't until about a month ago that my friend who works with her own autistic son, and others, said to go research Asperger's. This person did so, and found that while not a perfect match on all the points found on the internet so many others matched that it makes so much sense!!! Things clicked into place. In this book Pete can't stand the noise of the Harley. While this person loves the Harley sound, the sound of a typing keyboard or someone eating cereal has, in the past, caused huge outbursts of unexplained anger. Now, at last, because of this book, that makes sense!

I wish that it had been more well known when this person I am talking about was younger, it would have saved a great deal of stress and heartache. However, now that we know, we can work with that. These are very special intelligent people who just need to be understood! Reading this book was a HUGE help for me! I can't thank you enough Linda Windsor for writing this book! I hope that it will be an enjoyable, educational, blessed read for many many people! :D
