The Imposter by Suzanne Woods Fisher

Poor Katrina! She has moved and boy do the guys have her confused! She thought John was the one, until broke up with him and she moved. Now she is wondering, is he really? Andy Miller sure does like her. However, things are not cut and dry. Can she trust Andy? Where did Andy come from anyway?

Deceptiveness and forgiveness, it is all through out this book. What quantifies a lie, or being deceptive? What about when you didn't feel it was, but others do? Bishop David has a great deal to deal with. I loved seeing some folks from The Inn At Eagle Hill, but you will not have any problem with this book as a stand alone. The tie-in's only add to it for those of us who have read the other series.

My copy came from Revell in exchange for my honest review and nothing more.

A heart once deceived should not be easily fooled again . . .

Katrina Stoltzfus thought she had life and love all figured out: she was going to marry John and live happily ever after. But as her plans crumble before her eyes, she struggles to face an uncertain future. When a widow asks for help starting a new business, Katrina quickly agrees. She needs time to heal her broken heart, to untangle her messy life, to find a purpose.

What she doesn't need is attention from Andy Miller, a farmhand who arrives at the widow's farm just when help is most needed--and who always seems to say the right thing and be in the right place, at the right time. Is Andy for real or too good to be true? Murder at the Courthouse by Ann H. Gabhart (A Hidden Springs Mystery)

Welcome to Hidden Springs, Kentucky. The population just dropped by one. It't not like they had that many people to give either. Now they have 731! Panic almost ensued as the town busy-body Miss Wiladean Dearmon finds the body of a man who refuses to move off the court house top steps. Well, he can't move, he happens to have been murdered!

Micheal Keane has left the big city to come to this small quite town. All of the sudden, it isn't so quite anymore! Now he has to solve this murder, deal with a tiny town in shock that a murderer could be there, living there, even one of them! Sure it is a small town, but it doesn't lack in characters or interest at all. A few other mysteries are involved as well as the over all who-done-it.

I did figure it out in advance, but I still enjoyed this book, thoroughly. My copy came from Revell in exchange for my honest review and nothing else.

Nothing, that is, until a dead body is discovered on the courthouse steps. As Michael works to solve the case, it seems that every nosy resident in town has a theory. Deadlock by Diann Mills (FBI Houston book 3)

Hi All!

Please read to the END because I have a nice long interview to share with Author Diann Mills! What fun! :)
Now, this is book three in this series, FBI Houston. We just right into things right from the start. Special Agent Bethany Sanchez is now working in violent crimes. Her new partner is Special Agent Thatcher Graves. Boom! They are now dropped into the midst of a serial killer case. But are these murders really all from the serial killer?  These two have issues, and things to prove, both to each other and others. They clash, but they are a good team as well. I do so enjoy the crime solving aspects, its one of the things I don't get tired of especially in this series.

ABOUT THE BOOK
Two murders have rocked the city of Houston. Are they the work of a serial killer, or is a copycat trying to get away with murder? That is the question facing Special Agent Bethany Sanchez, who is eager for her new assignment in violent crimes but anxious about meeting her new partner. Special Agent Thatcher Graves once arrested her brother, and he has a reputation for being a maverick. Plus, their investigative styles couldn’t be more opposite: he operates on instinct, while she goes by the book. When hot leads soon fizzle out, their differences threaten to leave them deadlocked. But an attempt on their lives turns up the heat and brings them closer together, and a third victim might yield the clue that will help them zero in on a killer. This could be the case of their careers . . . if they can survive long enough to solve it.

1. How did you become interested in writing?
I cant remember when I wasnt in fiction mode. Before I could hold a pencil, I created stories. After I could hold a pencil, I wrote stories. The power of the written word intrigued me then as nowthe sound of words, the look of them on the written page, the ways words are used to entertain, inspire, and encourage others.
2. What can you tell us about the setting of this novel?
Deadlock, a romantic suspense, is set in Houston, Texas. My city.My home. Familiar landscapes add more authenticity.

3. Who are the main characters?
Special Agent Bethany Sanchez steps into the violent crime division of Houstons FBI. Shes a bit of a perfectionist, and her own worst critic. However, she has reservations about her new partner, the same man who put her brother in jail. To make matters worse, he has a reputation of getting the job done, no nonsense, and a womanizer. Are the rumors true?

4. Special Agent Thatcher Graves is ready to work with his new partner, but shes hard to get to know. Hes uncertain if he can trust her, and he has to know she has his back. Recently he made a decision to become a Christian, but his past party-image stops him from revealing the changes in his life.

5. Which of the characters surprised you the most in this story, and how so?
Bethany refused to give up on her relationship with her family, even though they chose her felon brother over her.

6. How did the writing of this story impact you as a person or as an author?
Definitely the family dynamics. We all have family members who dont share our beliefs or values. This deepened my awareness of unconditional love woven with obedience to Gods principles.

7. Why is this story important to you?
Three reasons:
1.      The complexities of dealing with a depraved mind.
2.      Showing the cultural differences between Bethany and Thatcher and their friendship resulting in love.
3.      Creating an action-packed story about Houstons FBI, their dedication and commitment to keeping people safe.

8. What would you like your readers to take away from this story?
Gods sovereignty in all situations of lifefamily, career, friendships, love, and obeying laws that correspond with Gods principles.

9. Are there some specific lessons you hope readers will learn and apply to their lives after reading your book?
God is bigger than our problems - whether that be career, spiritual, or personal. In Deadlock, not only did professional problems attack my hero and heroine, but family dynamics.

10.  When you are not writing, what do you like to do? Do you have any hobbies?
I enjoy reading, cooking, gardening, and grandkids! Im very much into good health and exercise to keep my body and mind in the best shape possible.

Lightning by Bonnie S.Calhoun (Stone Braide Chronicles #2)

We are back with the second book in this series! It just adds so much more and if you want some fun free extras, Tremors and Aftershock are free on Amazon. The order goes Tremors (A prequel), Thunder (Book #1) Aftershock (in-between Thunder and Lightning, and Lightning (Book #2). It would be best to read at least Thunder first, but why would you want to miss out on the others would be beyond me!

We left Selah having found her birth Father, Glade, and being rather confused. She is the novarium, whatever that means. After what Selah has already been through, she is just getting started!  If you recall, Selah was rather astonished to become a Lander, one of the people who shows up from the sea for reasons that aren't explained yet. Glade has secrets too, and they are about to not be so secret anymore.

Now there is an added issue. Selah is fractured. They have to find The Third Protocol or Selah is going to die, as in not exist! Before The Sorrows, there was a place called Atlantic City. Now it is TicCity, and maybe it holds answers for them. To farther complicate matters, not everyone is glad of Selah's powers and "bloodlines". Can her blood caused immortality? Can she trust the people she has met, her new family by genetics, some of her family that raised her? What about her friends, and her protector, Bodie?

Selah is really strong in this book, and I can't wait to read the next one!

A Noble Masquerade by Kristi Ann Hunter

It's the 1812 and Miranda doesn't fit the mold just right. She is a bit too impetuous, a bit too strong-headed, independent, and to to that off, Lady Miranda Hawthorne is still single. After two seasons she should have found a suitable husband, but that hasn't happened. Sure there are men who are interested, but not in the ways that count for Miranda. She is looking for love, not someone wanting her as a means to get titles or land. Her mother is quite outdone with her. She fails to act like a proper lady over and over again.

The Duke of Marshington is quite a character. He brings out all kinds of things in Miranda that are quite interesting! She's been writing him letters for years, and years. Letters that are NEVER mailed, until someone mails one of them! This changes everything!

This book was fun, and I enjoyed it! I hope to read more from this new author!

My copy came from Bethany House in exchange for my honest review and nothing more.
