Once Upon a Summertime by Melody Carlson

Anna is stuck. Stuck in smaller town, living a live that wasn't the dream she planned. Because of her Grandmother's need for her help, her plans for her life were altered. Instead of a big shining hotel, she is the manager for Value Lodge. In the middle of her being so stuck, an opportunity opens up. Her dream can be revived, she can have what she wants in New York! After a good long while into this book comes a Complication named Sean! Her old flame has applied for the same job. Can you guess how that is going to work out?

My thoughts are that I have really loved Melody Carlson's books over all. This is the start of a new series so we can expect that the next book will be stronger. This one had a few issues for me. It took me a bit to connect with Anna. Once I did, I found her story to be very smooth, almost seamless. It was still a sweet read, but not like her other books.

My copy of this book came from Revell in exchange for my honest review and nothing more.

About

She's looking for her big break. She never imagined it would depend on a blast from her past.
Managing the Value Lodge in her hometown was not what Anna Gordon had in mind when she set out in the hospitality industry. But it's a safe choice for a young woman starting out her career.

Then, out of the blue, she gets the opportunity of a lifetime: a chance to reinvent herself and reinvigorate her career by moving to New York City. She applies for a management position at a stylish new hotel, The Rothsberg. But the city is full of surprises--not the least of which is discovering that Sean O'Neil, a once-upon-a-time crush, has applied for the very same position.

This sweetly romantic tale of dreams come true takes you through the storied streets of New York City--and into the depths of the human heart.
