In The Field Of Grace By Tessa Afshar

I do enjoy how Tessa Afshar writes. The historical settings added in always make her books rich in scenery.
In this book both Ruth and Boaz share their story from their perspectives. Afshar always works the scriptural foundations into her books too, another thing I love!

It could be because this story has always been one of my personal favorites. However, Tessa out did her prior books, unless it is just my predisposition for this particular love story. It isn't just the love story between Ruth and Boaz, but us and God. Many people don't see the love that God shows us through this true life story, but I always have. That is why I have always loved it so, and I am glad to read a book that shows it so well!

ABOUT THE BOOK
Destitute, grief-stricken, and unwanted by the people of God, Ruth arrives in Israel with nothing to recommend her but Naomi's, love. Her loftiest hope is to provide enough food to save Naomi and herself from starvation.

But God has other plans for her life. While everyone considers Ruth an outcast, she is astounded to find one of the most honored men of Judah showing her favor.  Long since a widower and determined to stay that way, Boaz is irresistibly drawn to the foreign woman with the haunted eyes. He tells himself he is only being kind to his Cousin Naomi's chosen daughter when he goes out of his way to protect her from harm, but his heart knows better.

Based on the biblical account of Ruth, In the Field of Grace is the story of a love that ultimately changes the course of Israel's destiny and the future of the whole world.

Firewall by Diann Mills (FBI Houston Book 1)

First I must say, thank you SO MUCH DiAnn Mills for sending me a SIGNED copy of your book! That was such a thrill to open this up and read that! :D

Firewall starts of with a bang, well more of a bang then a major drama and action that doesn't let up! Taryn Young aka Mrs. Francis Shepherd is in love. Three months ago this man changed her life. Now they are on their way to start their honeymoon trip. The flight is going to be a long one and she will not be comfy if she doesn't grab a pit stop before boarding. That is when everything started changing! BOOM!!! The bathroom exploded! This was a bomb that went off, before Taryn could ever board her flight and marry the man of her dreams.

Worse yet, while she is alive, though in a coma, he is gone. Flat out left the airport, with very little footage to go on to find him. Taryn and her brand-new husband Shep, are prime suspects in the eyes of Spacial Agent Grayson Hall. She works for Gated-Labs, and in her line of top-secret government contracts, everything makes her look guilty. Where is Shep, and why did he leave his bride to die? Who is he if he isn't the name and the man she just married?

It's the very very tip start of a mole in th FBI office and of Grayson, and the rest of us trying to decide if Taryn was as played as she acts, or if she was in on this act of terrorism. Taryn know something, because those closest to her keep dying. She has a best friend's daughter to protect that is caught up in all this, and hopefully you will not see the ending coming. Full of suspense this book will keep you turning pages to solve the crime, clear the innocent, keep faith intact, and bring the guilty to justice!

I'm looking for the next book in this series!
Carol :)

ABOUT THE BOOK

After a whirlwind romance, Taryn Young is preparing to board a plane at Houston International Airport, bound for a dream honeymoon, when a bomb decimates the terminal. Injured but still alive, she awakens to discover her husband is missing and they’re both considered prime suspects in the attack. Further, the FBI is convinced her husband isn’t who he appears to be.

Agent Grayson Hall’s number-one priority is to catch those responsible for the day’s act of terror. All evidence is pointing to Taryn and her new husband. But his instinct tells him her pleas of innocence are genuine. Is her naiveté just for show, or could she truly be another victim of a master scheme, possibly linked to the software she recently developed for her company?

With both their lives and reputations on the line, and the media outcry for justice increasing with each passing minute, Taryn and Grayson have no choice but to trust one another . . . and pray they can uncover the truth before they become two more casualties.

The Warden and the Wolf King by Andrew Peterson (Book 4 The Wingfeather Saga)

This book, this series is so good that I bought the hardcover new 2020 editions. They are now on my shelf next to these 2011-2014 editions.

Oh my goodness! How could this be the last book in this series, and yet, how can it not be? I have to read them again soon, something that is rare for me to do! I will surely never forget Toothy Cows, just to name one reason for reading this series. This series started as a story that the Author and Father was making for his sons. It bloomed into an epic adventure that you will not want to put down! You should read the entire series so you don't miss anything!

Our group was left with a pending war against Gnag the Nameless, and the Fangs of Dang. Fangs come in two colors, and both the Gray ones and the Green ones are in on this. Thus, War. That would have been ok, had those horrible Fangs not got the jump on them and attacked prior to full readiness. Janner's family is all split up and separated, as well as them still being in shock over the revelation of who their father is.

Can they find their way back to each other? Will one of them die or be lost forever? Can you PLEASE understand that I adore the REAL Seadragons so don't be mean to seadragons unless you must *must"!

To try to cram this into a post, a solid review of this book, and not give away things I shouldn't, isn't easy this time. The action is far from lacking. The issues of the heart are prevalent. The ending, oh my. I do hate endings, but I hate non-endings more! Don't be afraid to share this series with your children, and park a set in the library of your Kindle or your home so that you can share them with those who can appreciate fine creative works that have an underlying Christ like theme deeply embedded into their core.

Death Takes a Ride by Lorena McCourtney (The Cate Kinkaid Files book 3)

I do so enjoy this series, and Death Takes a Ride just makes it more fun!
Dying to Read came first, and Dolled up to Die was next.

Cate is back getting herself innocently involved in major issues, just by being in the right place and the most awkward of times. She is waiting for her PI license to come in, and meanwhile, she keeps trying to remind herself that they don't do murder cases! Keep on thinking that honey, because it isn't working so far! She was just picking up a gal to take her to the Fit and Fabulous meeting, when a murder happened before they could leave! The wounded man is her friend's crush, and it seems like some folks might have had a reason to want him dead.

Mitch is considering relocating, and Cate doesn't want him to, but can't quite mange to say so. Then there is Clancy. He is the wounded man's dog. A large, hairy, skinny tailed, adorable fellow! If I had to guess Clancy's  breed I'd say he is an Irish Wolfhound! However, Cate has Olivia, her cat, and she isn't overly fond of Clancy. Thankfully, for now, Mitch is fond of him. After all, with his owner nearly murdered they had better figure this out or walk away from it, and walking away doesn't seem to work. Besides, what will Shirley do if they can't solve who tried to kill her crush? It will effect her job and a lot more!

I really enjoyed the last two books, this one is even better. I simply love Clancy, and I already liked Olivia.
Cate is still Faith filled and determined, and Mitch might get to be her leading man if he gets himself sorted out!

Thank you Revell!

It's official. This case is above her pay grade--and Cate's in over her head.

Cate Kinkaid arrives at H&B Vintage Auto Restorations to give friend a ride. But, as usual, trouble finds Cate even there--this time in the form of one dead man, one wounded man, and what appears to be a pretty obvious case of self-defense.

Despite having been merely an unfortunate bystander, Cate finds herself sucked into the case. And the deeper she gets, the more she begins to suspect that the shooting in the H&B office may not have been as cut-and-dried as it appeared.

Bestselling and award-winning author Lorena McCourtneytakes you on wild ride in this clever cozy mystery that will keep you guessing.

The Revealing by Suzanne Woods Fisher (The Inn at Eagle Hill Book 3)

Seriously, I can't believe we reached the end of this series! I have really enjoyed it, and I am now totally hooked on Suzanne Woods Fisher's books. They are one of my top favorites in their genera!
Here is the book cover:

The Revealing received a 4 star review from Romantic Times!

This is the third book in this series, and while you could read it alone, you would miss out on so much! So I recommend you read the first two books before you read this one.

Bless sweet Naomi's heart! She is going to need a lifetime supply of Tums if things don't change! Rose Schrock just got engaged to Galen King, but that is only the start of things. Tobe Schrock has secrets, and those secrets are coming out! Is he really tied to Dean, Rose's deceased husband's death? Why did he send this girl to live with Rose, other than the condition she is in that she claims has to do with Tobe.

Mim is still doing her writing work, but how much longer can she keep that under wraps? It is having several very interesting twists coming out.

There is a distant relative staying in town working on genealogy, or is this man someone else entirely? He is staying with The Sisters. Those who haven't read prior books have missed out on this group of five special spinster sisters.

A new family has moved in, and Bethany Schrock and impulsive Jimmy Fisher might not be the sure thing that Bethany thought that they were.

All kinds of secrets and questions are about to be revealed. I'm so glad God never let's go of us, even if we have to let go of some others. You don't want to miss this conclusion to a very good series. The only sad part is that we reached the "end", but the good news is you can start in on another series by this fun and gifted author!

Carol :)

About the book:  Naomi King, soft spoken, loyal, and easily overlooked, has a gift. She sees what others can't see. Intuition, she calls it. Others in Stoney Ridge don't know what to make of it and dismiss her hunches and inklings altogether.

When a young woman arrives at the Inn at Eagle Hill with a shocking secret about Tobe Schrock, Naomi fears the worst. She can't ignore the feeling that something sinister is at work-- something more than a threat to the tenuous love begun between her and Tobe.

As signs mount, they begin to point to Jake Hertzler, the elusive mastermind behind Schrock Investments' downfall. Soon, events spiral hopelessly out of control and Naomi must decide whether to listen to her head or her heart.

In this riveting conclusion to The Inn at Eagle Hill series, bestselling author Suzanne Woods Fisher pulls out all the stops with a fast-paced tale of deception, revelation, and just the right dose of romance.
